"Devious Accents" is a new feature/interview series of Senior Members here on deviantART that aims to surface key features of each Senior and to show them to the community as a whole, brought to you by %dAseniors--the official group for Senior Members on deviantART!
Finally, thoughts and sentiments from the Senior-side are revealed to the general community. Let's get started!
`Milotic1406: Why did you decide to make the leap and become a deviant?
`SanguineEpitaph: Looking back on it, I joined deviantART mainly to find people who were interested in art like I was, and to share my art with others. I quickly realized the sheer talent of the dA community, and was inspired to improve, but also rather intimidated.
After a while, I realized that deviantART has an awesome community aspect, so I began to use dA as a platform to make new friends and improve my art when I was lonely in high school and didn't know many people whose interests aligned with my own. Believe it or not, my best friend of almost 3 years is from dA, and we keep in contact every day! I have no other friends that close, especially not in real life.
`Milotic1406: What contributions to the community are you most proud of since receiving Seniority?
`SanguineEpitaph: I think that my seniority came at a difficult time, because it was right on the cusp of exiting high school, when I had a huge amount of time to devote to dA, and entering college. Most of the contributions I'm proud of came before I was a senior. Like organizing the first dA Staff Appreciation Week and meeting all of the great deviants who helped, like ~Sailor-Pikmin, ~litecrush, and so forth. I am also proud of helping with #Conlangers as one of the earlier members. Now the group is actually quite active!
Unfortunately with college now, I don't have the same amounts of time that I used to, and the time that I do have isn't typically as dedicated to dA as it once was. If anything, I hope that my biggest contribution is inspiring an artist with my work.
`Milotic1406: Which deviants on your watch list leave you on the edge of your seat?
`SanguineEpitaph: OMFG ~TwoDD ALL THE WAY. I think she was literally one of the first deviants I'd ever watched on here, and I still watch her art like a hawk. She's extremely nice and willing to answer questions, and her style reminds me of an awesome mix of herself, Giger, and Beksinski. Check out her work!
^TimberClipse is so talented and motivated. I'm actually quite impressed with him on and off dA!
*shichigoro756 has interesting work that reminds me of a modern form of Gutai.
~litecrush's emote style makes me cry in awe
AND GO LOOK AT ~shoelesspeacock's AWESOME DESIGN WORK NOW.
`Milotic1406: Are there any major differences you see between the Senior side of the community and the community as a whole?
`SanguineEpitaph: I think there's not really that much of a difference. The largest one is probably that members tend to expect me to have a lot of answers to questions about the site, and I usually don't!
`Milotic1406: What are your favorite aspects of the deviantART community?
`SanguineEpitaph: It's large, diverse, talented, and accepting! There's really a niche for everyone.
There are many more to come!
